Accessibility

We believe a candy shop should welcome everyone. We work to make pimspicknmix.com accessible to people with a wide range of abilities and assistive technologies, including screen readers, keyboard-only navigation, and screen magnifiers.

Our goal is to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA. These guidelines, published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C), are the international standard for web accessibility and cover four core principles: content should be perceivable, operable, understandable, and robust.

The Site is built with the following in mind:

• Semantic HTML— landmarks, headings, and lists are used so assistive technologies can understand the structure of each page.
• Alt text on images that convey meaning, with decorative images marked as such.
• Keyboard navigation— all interactive elements (links, buttons, forms, the candy picker) are reachable and operable using only the keyboard.
• Visible focus indicators on links and form fields.
• Color contrast meeting WCAG AA contrast ratios for text and interactive elements.
• Resizable text— the Site supports browser zoom up to 200% without loss of content or functionality.
• Form labels and error messages tied to their inputs and announced by screen readers.
• ARIA attributes used where needed to clarify dynamic UI states (e.g., the candy picker bag fill).

Despite our best efforts, some content on the Site may not yet meet our accessibility goals. Known issues we are actively working on:

• Some product photography lacks detailed alternative descriptions beyond the product name; we are expanding alt text in collaboration with our copy team.
• Decorative animations (drifting clouds, candy fall) are designed to be ignorable by assistive technologies. Users with motion sensitivity can disable them via their operating system’s “reduce motion” setting; we honor this preference on future updates.

When you contact us, please describe the issue, the page or feature where it occurs, and the assistive technology and browser you are using. We aim to respond within 5 business days and to resolve accessibility issues as quickly as possible.

Our Site uses third-party services such as Shopify (checkout), Google Analytics, and embedded social media widgets. While we choose vendors with accessibility in mind, we do not control the accessibility of their platforms. If you encounter issues with a third-party tool on our Site, please let us know so we can pass your feedback to the vendor.

Accessibility is a continuous effort. We test our Site with automated tools (axe, Lighthouse) on every release and conduct manual reviews on key flows (homepage, product pages, candy picker, checkout). When new features are added, accessibility is part of our review process.
